Since 2023, the city of Verden an der Aller has been providing its citizens with free public cargo bike sharing with 10 electric cargo bikes with the support of 1 2 Drive. The 10 bikes are stored in 10 individual boxes with charging stations at 10 locations and can be booked using the 12DRIVE+ app.Each bike can only be checked in and out at exactly one location.

The user registration was implemented with 2-factor authentication, i.e. after registration via the app, the users are verified by post. Users can open the parking facilities and locks seamlessly via the app and rent the cargo bike. With the bike project, the city is making it possible for its citizens to leave their cars at home more often and instead choose a cargo bike for small transports.

The services provided by 1 2 Drive include the development of the app, the provision of cargo bikes and bike boxes with charging stations and access systems, as well as maintenance and service.
